Just Kids Academy is blessed to have such amazing educators working with our children each day. They strive to provide hands on activities that engage children through sensory, fine motor, and academic learning.
Mrs.Christy
Teaching has always been my passion. I love to watch young children explore and learn something new each day. I have taught within the military schools throughout Europe for 33 years, ages 2-8. I am Special Ed certified and most of my career I have worked with children with a variety of disabilities.
I have been married to my husband Jerry for 35 years. We have 2 grown children- James 30 and Nikki 28. We are a proud military family and have lived overseas for 13 years but are glad to finally call SA/Schertz our home. My husband and I love to be an active part of the community. We volunteer our time within our church, the Knight’s of Columbus, judges within the Guadalupe Election office, and assisting the Schertz Senior Center.
Things I love: Iced Tea, Mexican food, gardening, fishing, hiking, bird watching, crafting, and swimming.
Mrs. Kim
Since I was a young child, I have dreamed of becoming a teacher. For the last 17 years, I have worked with children between the ages of 3-11. I was in the public school system (JISD and AHISD) for 12 years as a classroom teacher, campus interventionist/specialist, team leader, and much more. I hold a MEd in Education Administration and I always dreamed of opening my own facility. In 2014 that dream became a reality. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to continue to do what I LOVE- shaping young minds.
I have been married to my husband Shawn for 16 years (we are high school sweeties and SA natives) and we are blessed with 2 children- Madison-8 and Colton 4. We love camping (or glamping) with our kiddos in our travel trailer and spending time together as a family. We love being outdoors, playing a variety of sports and dancing to music.
Things I love: Dr. Pepper, Reese's Peanut butter cups, Mexican food, coffee, good books, CG, and long runs.
Mrs. Val
Teaching has become a second career for me. I worked for 19 years in the business field at Intertek, a fire testing facility. I was the billing and scheduling coordinator, managing a variety of tasks throughout the company. I have always been surrounded by young children and realized that child development would be my calling. Over the last year at Just Kids I have faced new challenges and have experienced overwhelming pride in helping children to grow and flourish. It is my new passion.
I have been married to my husband Stephen for 26 years (we are also high school sweeties and SA natives) and we are blessed with 2 children- Kaitlin 23 and Ty- 19. We love to spend time with our extended family, being outdoors, and traveling. I love our 4 fur baby dogs, listening to music, and fall football. Our country living is a peaceful way to relax, read a good book, and enjoy my time off.
Things I love: Mexican food, cherry coke, and carrot cake.
